Caring guide

Caring your hemp clothing

  • Wash in cold water.
  • Do not bleach.
  •   Hang dry. Avoid direct sunlight when drying.
  •   Using a dryer can create a 4% shrinkage along the length and 1% shrinkage along the width.

Hemp, a robust natural fiber, has the particularity of creasing easily. When combined with cotton, this improves the comfort and flexibility of the fabric. With repeated washing, the fabric gradually becomes softer. However, hemp is difficult to deep dye, which can lead to fading of clothing made with this fiber. It is recommended to avoid exposure to the sun to prevent premature fading.

If you prefer a smooth look, you can iron hemp clothes without any problem. Unlike synthetic fibers with a uniform appearance, hemp takes time to soften and has more of a “boho” appearance. It has thermoregulatory properties and lightly embraces body heat, which means it will relax a bit like jeans. After the first wash, a slight shrinkage of approximately 4% may occur.

Hemp knits are often softer than woven fabrics. Blends of hemp with Spandex offer more flexibility, while blends with recycled polyester give a fine, satiny appearance.

The mixes available are:
55% Hemp / 45% Organic Cotton (Jersey, muslin, Hempcel, Twill)
53% Hemp / 44% Organic Cotton / 3% Spandex (Jersey)
53% Hemp / 44% Organic Cotton / 3% Spandex (muslin)
Wash in cold water.
Do not use bleach.
Hang to dry. Avoid the sun for drying.
Using the dryer can create a backflow of 4% along the length and 1% across the width.

HEMP

Opting for hemp clothing goes well beyond just a trend; it is also a conscious choice for your well-being and for the environment. Hemp, a natural fiber from the cannabis plant, has many benefits that go beyond fashion. Here are some reasons to choose hemp for your wardrobe:

Eco-Friendly: Growing hemp requires little water and generally does not need pesticides or herbicides, making it an environmentally friendly option.

Breathable and hypoallergenic: Hemp fabrics are naturally breathable, promoting air circulation around your body. Additionally, hemp is hypoallergenic, ideal for sensitive skin.
Resistant and durable: Hemp fibers are known for their strength. Hemp clothing has a long lifespan, resists wear and tear better and maintains its shape over time.
Thermal regulation: Hemp can regulate body temperature, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. This makes it a versatile choice all year round.
Antibacterial: The antimicrobial properties of hemp help prevent bad odors, keeping you fresher for longer.
Natural UV Protection: Hemp clothing provides natural protection against the sun's harmful UV rays, saving your skin from damage caused by prolonged exposure.
Natural decomposition: Hemp products are biodegradable, helping to reduce the overall environmental impact of the fashion industry.

By choosing hemp clothing, you adopt a sustainable, comfortable and planet-friendly lifestyle. So, dress in harmony with nature while enjoying the many benefits that hemp offers.
